Cartier Met Gala
A Virtual Photobooth Redefining Luxury

Cartier needed to celebrate their cultural impact at the 2021 Met Gala with a photobooth experience inside The Mark Hotel. The challenge was transforming a fully furnished hotel room within historic New York architecture into something extraordinary for high-profile talent including Billie Eilish, Leon Bridges, and Troye Sivan. The space needed to create shareable moments that would amplify Cartier's presence across social media platforms while maintaining the luxury.

Approach

We designed a virtual production photobooth that made the space feel limitless and dreamlike. Using machine learning software, we blended archival footage with abstract content inspired by Cartier materials, diamonds, and celestial shapes. Five unique immersive worlds were crafted, each enveloping talent in environments that felt both luxurious and surreal. Every detail was optimized for social sharing while maintaining the maison's sophisticated aesthetic.

Impact

The experience transformed celebrities into living art pieces, placing them within shimmering panoramas that reinforced Cartier's iconic status. Content generated over 50 million social media impressions across platforms, with talent sharing the immersive moments organically. Media praised the project for bringing "Met Gala magic" to life, creating viral moments that celebrated the maison's place in style and pop culture history while showcasing their jewelry.
