01 · The service

In late November 2021, Virgil Abloh died suddenly. He had been the creative director of Donda and one of Kanye West's closest friends.

Kanye dedicated a Sunday Service to him, and PHNTM built and ran it: at 1360 Conway in Los Angeles, and for everyone watching around the world. PHNTM created the live show, designed the space and the lighting that set its tone, handled the technical production and the event, and produced the global livestream so the room reached far past the people inside it.

02 · The program

The program held tribute and music together.

The MUSYCA Children's Choir opened with 'Donda' and 'Jesus Lord.' The Sunday Service Choir sang 'Hurricane,' 'Moon,' and songs from their 'Emmanuel' EP. The tribute came with Adele's 'Easy On Me' and one line on the screen.
