In February 2022, Kanye West debuted Donda 2 at LoanDepot Park in Miami. The centerpiece was the house he grew up in, rebuilt to scale on a pond.

Set on fire as the show opened, left smoldering on the water as it closed. The whole thing came together in 22 days, under heavy public scrutiny.

02 · The build

Working with creative director Niklas Bildstein Zaar, PHNTM engineered and built it.

A 300,000-gallon pool inside the ballpark, the to-scale house sitting on top of it, and the special effects to burn it down in a controlled way, live, in front of a full crowd.

03 · The broadcast

PHNTM also built the broadcast. A live heartbeat feed, pulled from Ye in real time through custom biometric monitoring, ran to theaters and streaming as he performed.

The show went out as the first live concert broadcast across 60 IMAX theaters, in 15 cities at once.
