Dakar Rally Closing Ceremony.
A mountain in the Saudi desert turned into a stage, in 31 days.

To close the 2020 Dakar Rally and launch Qiddiya to the world, PHNTM turned a mountain in the open Saudi desert into a stage.
Wiz Khalifa and DJ Snake performed for more than 40,000 people. The ceremony closed with a projection-mapped story across the cliff and more than 13,000 fireworks over the desert.

PHNTM made the mountain the stage. Working with Martin Professional Middle East, PHNTM laser-scanned the cliff and installed 84 Barco projectors across nine sites, housed in custom marine containers to survive the desert.
It turned 32,000 square meters of mountain into a projection canvas, the largest permanent projection mapping installation in the world, a Guinness World Record, built as the backdrop for one night.

Live Nation and PHNTM had 31 days, from first call to doors, to build it all in open desert with the cliff face behind and nothing else around.
On the night, more than 400 lighting elements, a full special effects package, and the projection system all ran as one.
